Bill Pay

The Village of Freeburg bills its customers for electric, water, sewer and trash on a monthly basis.  Utility bills are mailed on or around the 22nd of each month and due on the 7th of the following month by the close of business (5:00 p.m.) in order to avoid any late fees.  If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, such period will be automatically extended to include the following first full business day.

The Village has the ability to email you a copy of your monthly utility bill.  The email is sent the day the bills are produced and delivered to the Post Office.  This copy of your bill can work as a back-up in case you do not receive your blue postcard bill in the mail or you can use it to pay from.  Please note that whether or not you receive your bill in the mail, you are responsible for knowing when it is due.  Please take advantage of this free service and hopefully avoid any issues in the future.  To add an email to your billing account, please email ubclerk@freeburg.com

In an effort to offer multiple payment options to our citizens and utility customers, the Village of Freeburg is happy to offer the following payment options:

Direct Debit:  Direct debit is the village’s easiest payment option!  With direct debit your monthly payment is directly withdrawn from an authorized checking or savings account on the due date.  A bill will still be mailed to you, but you no longer have to worry about writing a check.  The best part of all is that it’s free!  To enroll in the direct debit program, please click on link below.

On-line:  The Village of Freeburg offers an online payment option with PSN.  Customers have the ability to make payments online by accessing this site through www.freeburg.com and clicking the link on the home page "Pay Your Utility Bill Online."  A convenience fee of 3.00% of the bill amount is added to a credit card payment, and a fee of $1.10 for a debit card payment.  Customers can also utilize this online payment system for the following benefits:

*Ability to view bills and account history online

                        *24/7 account access

*Reduced bill paying time and money on stamps

*Reoccurring automatic payments via credit card

                        *Convenient, paperless statements via email

Village Hall:  Payments are accepted in person at Village Hall during the normal business hours of 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  However, we encourage our customers to use either of our drop boxes.  One is located in the brick wall by the flags, and the other is located in the front vestibule of Village Hall.

Banks:  Utility payments are accepted at Citizens Bank (North) in Freeburg until the due date.
