IDNR will hold the Hunter Safety Course on Friday, September 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Freeburg Township Hall. Hunters must attend both days, as the Hunter Education Program consists of a minimum ten (10) hours of instructions. This course covers the basics of hunter responsibility, wildlife conservation and identification, firearms and ammunition, field safety, wildlife management, first aid, archery, muzzle loading, and state regulation. Persons completing these 10 hours of instruction and successfully completing the final examination will receive a State of Illinois Certificate of Competency. 

Persons of all ages are encouraged to participate; youth age ten-years and under must be accompanied to and during the course by an adult.
