Recreation Park

Freeburg in the past five years surged forward in the recreation area upon the completion of a survey by Southern Illinois University of the needs of Freeburg.  A board was formed and immediately 65 acres of adjacent land was purchased for a park.  Development of the park was accomplished with volunteer community help from all civic organizations of Freeburg. The Village can also boast of a memorial park in the center of the village dedicated to the veterans of the World Wars,  It covers a city block in the center of the business district.
