Recreation Park

Freeburg in the past five years surged forward in the recreation area upon the completion of a survey by Southern Illinois University of the needs of Freeburg.  A board was formed and immediately 65 acres of adjacent land was purchased for a park.  Development of the park was accomplished with volunteer community help from all civic organizations of Freeburg. The Village can also boast of a memorial park in the center of the village dedicated to the veterans of the World Wars,  It covers a city block in the center of the business district.

2009 Dates of Operation

Pool will open May 23, 2009 - September 7, 2009
Pool closed May 26 - 28, 2009
Pool open May 29 - September 7, 2009
Pool closed August 14 - 15, 2009 (homecoming)
Pool open weekends only (Sat. & Sunday) from August 22 - September 7.

The Family Days will be Sunday, June 21st and Sunday, July 12th. Parents will get in free when accompanied by a child. The child(ren) will get in at half price on those days.

Swim After Dark dates: June 12th, July 10th and August 7th from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at a cost of $2 per person. 

Swim Lessons will be held from 6/8 - 6/12 and 6/15 - 6/19. The lessons will be held in two sessions (they pick one session). The first session is 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. and the second session is from 11:00 – 11:30a.m. The prices will be $50 for in-town residents or $35 if a season pass is purchased. Out of town residents will be charged $60 or $45 if a season pass is purchased. 

The cost for pool parties will remain $150.00 and they just need to contact me at Village Hall to reserve a date
