NOTICE FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT

Effective immediately, Waste Management will no longer pick up televisions.  At a cost of $50, you can call Waste Management and they will pick up your television and have it sent to the electronic recycling center.  They can be reached at 800-989-2783. 


RECYCLING CENTER 
NOW OPEN

The Village of Freeburg is pleased to announce the Recycling Center is open 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. located adjacent to Village Hall. Please click on the link below which will show what items can and cannot be recycled. The recycling center is a single stream operation which means you do not have to separate your recyclable products. 
In addition to the main recycling bin, separate paper recycling bins are provided. Please see the attached flyer which tells you what items can and cannot be recycled in the Paper. The items not accepted in the paper recycling dumpster can be placed in the main recycling bin. The Paper Recycling bin is one of many located throughout the Village of Freeburg and all proceeds will be distributed to the local schools.

Kaskaskia Wildlife Area, a public hunting area located is only 15 minutes away 

Freeburg in the past five years surged forward in the recreation area upon the completion of a survey by Southern Illinois University of the needs of Freeburg. A board was formed and immediately 65 acres of adjacent land was purchased for a park. Development of the park was accomplished with volunteer community help from all civic organizations of Freeburg. The Village can also boast of a memorial park in the center of the village dedicated to the veterans of the World Wars, It covers a city block in the center of the business district.

2009 Dates of Operation

12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m.

Pool will open May 28, 2011 - August  14, 2011


The Family Days are:  Sunday, July 10th and August 7th. Paents will get in free when accompanied by a child. The child(ren) will get in at half price on those days.

Swim After Dark dates:  July 8th and August 5th from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at a cost of $2 per person or free with pool pass.

Swim Lessons will be held from 6/8 - 6/12 and 6/15 - 6/19. The lessons will be held in two sessions (they pick one session). The first session is 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. and the second session is from 11:00 – 11:30a.m. The prices will be $50 for in-town residents or $35 if a season pass is purchased. Out of town residents will be charged $60 or $45 if a season pass is purchased.

The cost for pool parties will remain $150.00 and they just need to contact me at Village Hall to reserve a date
