NOTICE FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT

Effective immediately, Waste Management will no longer pick up televisions.  At a cost of $50, you can call Waste Management and they will pick up your television and have it sent to the electronic recycling center.  They can be reached at 800-989-2783. 


RECYCLING CENTER 
NOW OPEN

The Village of Freeburg is pleased to announce the Recycling Center is open 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. located adjacent to Village Hall. Please click on the link below which will show what items can and cannot be recycled. The recycling center is a single stream operation which means you do not have to separate your recyclable products. 
In addition to the main recycling bin, separate paper recycling bins are provided. Please see the attached flyer which tells you what items can and cannot be recycled in the Paper. The items not accepted in the paper recycling dumpster can be placed in the main recycling bin. The Paper Recycling bin is one of many located throughout the Village of Freeburg and all proceeds will be distributed to the local schools.

Lower your monthly energy bills and get paid to do it.  The Village of Freeburg, working through the Recycle My Fridge Program will recycle your old, working fridge or freezer and give you $35. Freeburg in the past five years surged forward in the recreation area upon the completion of a survey by Southern Illinois University of the needs of Freeburg. A board was formed and immediately 65 acres of adjacent land was purchased for a park. Development of the park was accomplished with volunteer community help from all civic organizations of Freeburg. The Village can also boast of a memorial park in the center of the village dedicated to the veterans of the World Wars, It covers a city block in the center of the business district.

The Family Days dates:   Sunday, June 8th, Sunday, July 13th and Sunday, August 3rd.  Parentis are free when accompanied by a child.  Children are half price.

Swim After Dark dates: Friday, June 6th, Friday, July 11th and Friday, August 1st., all 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Water Acclimation Classes:  We currently have two sessions available for the classes.  The first session runs from June 9th - June 20th (Monday - Friday) from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.; OR the second session will be held on Saturday mornings from May 31st - July 19th from 10:00-10:45a.m..  On Saturday May 31st, the class will be held from 10:00-10:30a.m.  There will be no class on Saturday, July 5th.  If we do not receive enough participants in either session, you will be asked to join the other session, or receive a refund if the session you signed up for is canceled.  Cost for in-town: $50 per session or $35 with a season pass; out-of-town: $60 per session or $45 with a season pass.  Please click on the following link to download and print the registration form:  2014 Water Acclimation Lessons

Swim Meet dates:  The pool will close at 4:00 p.m. on the following dates for the home swim meets:  June 10th, June 19th, June 24th, July 8th and July 10th.
