Electric Services

The Village of Freeburg maintains its own municipal power generating plant and provides electrical service to the Village residents, businesses and industries. This electrical service ability is backed by the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency through contractual arrangements. The Village is able to generate 100 percent of it's power needs and is able to react to an energy crisis quickly when the Agency is not able to provide all services needed.

 

The rural area surrounding the Village is served with electrical power by Ameren IP. 

 

Electric Connection An electric connection fee of $50.00 must be paid, plus materials and labor.

Electric Meter Deposit A meter deposit is required prior to connection to the system. Fee varies according to use.
