LIVING
WITH WILDLIFE IN ILLINOIS A
website has been developed by the Illinois Department of Natural
Resources (IDNR) and University of Illinois Extension in order to
provide residents of Illinois with information about how to coexist
with Illinois’ wildlife, especially in urban areas. Many species
of wildlife are welcome visitors to our properties, but some animals
may wear out their welcome. Urban wildlife helps us maintain our
connection with nature. However, some wildlife end up in places that
are not safe for them or for people and pets with whom they come in
contact. For more information, please visit the website >>http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/wildlife.
NEW LIMB AND LEAF PICKUP SCHEDULE--The Village of Freeburg would like to advise everyone that limbs and leaves will be picked up on the first and third Monday of each month. You must call Village Hall prior to noon of the first or third Monday to be placed on the pickup list. Size limits of limbs remain the same. Should you have any questions, please call the Village at 539-5545.

Direct
Debit
After
considering various options for making the utility bill payment
process more convenient, the Village of Freeburg plans to accept
Direct Debit payments for utility bills if a sufficient number of
residents sign up for the service. There will be no charge to
residents for the service. There is, however, a cost to the
village so the program may be cancelled if there is insufficient
participation.
For
residents who sign up for the service, payments will be
automatically deducted from their checking or savings account on
or about the 7th of each month. The service will avoid the cost
and inconvenience of check writing, mailing, or delivering
payments to village hall. Late fees will also be eliminated for
those who use the service providing sufficient funds are available
in their account when the Direct Debit occurs. Participating
customers will continue to receive printed bills so they will
always know how much their account will be debited.
Application
forms are available at village hall and here on the website.
Interested residents may also call village hall at 539-5545 to
have forms mailed to them. The forms can be returned in person, by
mail, or by placing in the night drop box at village hall. Click
here to download the Direct Debit form.
Village
to Resident Notification System
The Village of Freeburg is pleased to announce the launch of the
Connect-CTY service, our new village-to-resident notification system. With this service, Village officials can send personalized voice messages to residents and businesses within minutes with specific information about time-sensitive or common-interest issues such as emergencies and local community matters. The
Connect-CTY service will be used to supplement our communication plans and augment public safety/first responder services.
Please accept our invitation to participate in this great service. We know that your personal information is important and rest assured that we will not share it with anyone. If you have NOT already received a test phone call from us, or you would like to provide additional contact information, click the
Connect-CTY image to sign up. If you have any questions about the service, please contact Julie Polson at Village Hall at 539-5705.
The
accuracy of contact information entered into the system is the
user’s responsibility. Due to the possibility of system failure
or other problems beyond the Village’s control, residents are
advised not to rely on this system as the sole source of emergency
notification.
